Saudi king sacks director of public security refers him to interrogation

King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, issued a royal decree dismissing First Lieutenant General Khalid bin Qaraar bin Ghanem Al-Harbi, Director of Public Security, and recommending him to retirement with the investigation.

This was based on a complaint filed by the relevant authorities for committing many breaches and violations with the intent of stealing public funds for personal use. With the help of eighteen public and private sector workers, he was suspected of perpetrating many offenses, including forgery, bribery, and abuse of influence.

According to the Saudi News Agency, the text of the royal order was based on what was filed by the concerned authority about the commission of the first team / Khaled bin Qaraar Al-Harbi for many violations to seize public money and use it for personal gain. The Royal decree orders that the service of the Director of Public Security, First Lieutenant-General / Khaled bin Qaraar bin Ghanem Al-Harbi, will be ended by his retirement and referral for inquiry.

The Control and Anti-Corruption Authority will finish the investigative procedures with all parties involved and take any legal action necessary.
