The secretariats of the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council held on Wednesday their second meeting in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The meeting was co-chaired by Advisor at the Royal Court and Secretary-General of the Council for the Saudi side, Mohammed bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, and Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport and Secretary-General of the Council for the Egyptian side, Kamel Al-Wazir.
During the meeting, both sides discussed shared visions for the strategic relations between the two countries and ways to further bolster them.
Moreover, they reviewed joint action plans in preparation for the first session of the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council, under the chairmanship of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, and the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
In the light of this, the Council’s secretariats emphasized their commitment to developing a joint roadmap that advances and consolidates bilateral relations to meet the aspirations of the Saudi and Egyptian leaderships and peoples and achieve their mutual interests.
The establishment of the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council was announced during a visit by the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, to Egypt in October 2024.
It aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt across vital areas such as politics, security, economy, trade, investment, education, healthcare, environment, culture, industry, agriculture, technology, digital transformation, communications, infrastructure, transportation and energy.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chairs the Saudi side, while President Al-Sisi chairs the Egyptian side. The Council also includes ministers and senior officials from both countries across relevant sectors. It holds regular meetings on a rotating basis between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
