 Saudi-Djiboutian Committee Holds Joint Work in Sixth Session

The sixth session of the Saudi-Djiboutian Joint Committee was held today in Riyadh to enhance fraternal relations and mutual cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Djibouti. The session was chaired by Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser and Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Government spokesperson Mahmoud Ali Yusuf.

In his opening speech, Al-Jasser emphasized that the meeting reflects the depth of the relationship between the two countries, especially since the efforts being made are merely a starting point for enhancing trade and investment cooperation in many vital and logistical sectors.

He added that the growth of Saudi exports in global markets reflects the significant progress in the volume of trade exchange, which reached nearly 7 billion riyals in 2023. He also pointed out that this contributes to expanding the horizons of sustainable growth and strengthening bilateral trade relations in the future.

His Excellency highlighted that these figures reflect a growing pillar of commercial cooperation aimed at increasing exports between the two countries. This is supported by Saudi Arabia’s role in public-private partnerships, with Vision 2030 driving a diversified economy, key industry development, investment, and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Kingdom’s future depends on collaboration between the public and private sectors to achieve Vision 2030 goals.

He added that achieving economic diversification is a key entry point towards turning the Kingdom’s vision into tangible reality, especially as the contribution figures from non-oil sectors highlight the importance of increasing Saudi exports to global markets. He pointed out that the previous session of work saw numerous efforts and initiatives that have borne fruit in strengthening bilateral relations.

Commercial Cooperation

This contributes to realizing the aspirations of both countries for a strategic partnership that serves common interests across various fields. He also emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding and deepening these relations, as they reflect shared goals and strengthen national interests.

At the conclusion of the 6th session of the Saudi-Djiboutian Joint Committee in Riyadh, the final report of the committee’s work was signed, and commemorative gifts were exchanged between the two parties.
