Foreign Minister Participates in Saudi-French Ministerial Committee on AlUla Development
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has attended the second meeting of the Saudi-French Ministerial Committee in Paris, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Committee supervises the intergovernmental agreement signed in 2018, concerning the cultural, heritage, tourism, and human development of AlUla.
Chaired by the Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla Prince Badr bin Abdullah, the meeting reviewed the Saudi-French agreements and accomplishments made to transform AlUla into a global tourist destination and cultural hub.
Moreover, the meeting, chaired by the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot on the French side, delved into how to expand the horizons of cooperation between both countries in various sectors. Such sectors include antiquities, sports, arts, as well as development and construction.
In the light of this, the meeting highlighted the participation of several senior officials such as the Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Ambassador to France Fahad Ruwaily, and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla Abeer AlAkel.
Meanwhile, several French officials have also participated in the meeting including Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, Minister of Economy and Finance Antoine Armand, and Chairman of the French Agency for AlUla Development Jean-Yves Le Drian.
