Saudi Arabia to Participate in 2024 Spring meetings of IMF, World Bank Group
During the upcoming 2024 Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, Saudi Arabia will discuss views on developments in the global economy, growth prospects and risks surrounding it.
The Kingdom will discuss global economic policy’s priorities. It will further discuss the Fund’s role in dealing with these developments by providing financial aid and advice, building the technical capacity of member states and providing financial support to countries in need.
The 2024 Spring meetings will be held in Washington, D.C., during the period April 15-20, 2024. A Saudi delegation, headed by Minister of Finance, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, will include the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), Ayman Al-Sayari, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan Al-Marshad, the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro Fiscal Policies and International Relations, Abdulmohsen AlKhalaf and a number of officials in Saudi economic affairs.
The Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank will participate in the second meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 under the Brazilian presidency. The meeting will discuss a number of global economic and development issues, and ways to enhance international cooperation to confront the challenges of the global economy.
The Minister will participate in the meeting of the World Bank Group Development Committee to discuss the latest updates of global development’s work and plans implemented by the World Bank Group.
The Spring Meetings are a platform that brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, senior officials from international organizations and the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations, and academics to discuss a number of important topics including the economy and the global financial system, sustainable development, ways to eradicate poverty, and other economic and financial issues.
