Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Unwavering Commitment to Lebanon’s Stability

In a significant diplomatic move, Prince Yazid bin Farhan, Advisor to Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to Lebanon’s internal stability during a high-level meeting in Beirut on Friday. The visit underscored Saudi Arabia’s strategic role in supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and fostering regional peace.

During discussions, Prince Yazid emphasized that Saudi Arabia would exert all diplomatic efforts to safeguard Lebanon and its people. Speaking to Lebanese MPs, he stressed the Kingdom’s readiness to collaborate with regional and international partners to restore calm and stability in the war-torn nation.

Lebanon’s Stability: Saudi Arabia’s Diplomatic Endeavors

Fouad Makhzoumi, an influential Lebanese MP, took to X to share insights from his meeting with Prince Yazid. He described the encounter as “fruitful”, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s crucial role in stabilizing Lebanon.

“We expressed our deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia, alongside the United States, for their tireless efforts in supporting Lebanon’s stability, restoring calm, and ending hostilities,” Makhzoumi stated.

Additionally, he praised Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, emphasizing the need to limit weapons possession to the state’s legitimate authorities. This stance aligns with Lebanon’s Taif Accords, which Saudi Arabia continues to champion.

Saudi-US Role in Restoring Calm

Moreover, the meeting also addressed the US-led ceasefire between Beirut and Tel Aviv, with Prince Yazid reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Taif Accords. A statement from the National Moderation Bloc echoed this sentiment, affirming the Kingdom’s dedication to Lebanon’s stability.

Similarly, the National Consensus Bloc, led by MP Faisal Karami, engaged with Prince Yazid to discuss local and regional challenges. The envoy reiterated Saudi Arabia’s call for unity and moderation, urging all parties to prioritize civil peace.
