Saudi Arabia Ranks Second Globally in 2023 Tourist Growth

Saudi Arabia achieved a breakthrough in the tourism sector. It ranked  the second place globally in the growth of tourist arrivals in the first seven months of 2023.

The Ministry of Tourism explained that the Kingdom recorded a growth rate of 58 per cent compared to the same period in 2019, according to the World Tourism Organization’s World Tourism Report (September).

These results are part of the Kingdom’s outstanding achievements in the tourism sector and its leadership of the global landscape in this vital sector. Most recently, the Kingdom hosted World Tourism Day in Riyadh from 27 to 28 September.

Achievements have strengthened the Kingdom’s position as a distinct global tourist destination (Middle East).

The Minister of Tourism Ahmed al-Khateeb stated that these achievements would not be possible without the unprecedented support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the follow-up and attention of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

These achievements enhance the Kingdom’s position as a distinct global tourist destination. The dramatic increase in the number of tourists arriving reflects travelers’ confidence in the attractive tourist choices in the Kingdom and its diversity.
