The Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission will host the fourth edition of the International Translation Forum, on November 8-9, 2024 in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Held at the Saudi Ministry of Education, the International Translation Forum 2024 aims to explore the current trends in the translation industry and the latest professional practices, locally and globally, in addition to discussing the challenges facing the sector.
International Translation Forum
The International Translation Forum 2024 features seven theoretical and interactive tracks, including the Dialogue Sessions track, which explores the latest scientific research supported by the Arab Observatory for Translation.
It also includes the Translation Circles track, which presents interactive experiences to visitors, such as video game localization experience.
Moreover, the International Translation Forum 2024 includes the Translation Tales track, which allows translation experts to share stories and professional experiences.
Addressing Translation Issues
The Forum also features a Panel Discussions track, including 10 panel discussions that address issues related to the modern translation industry. Each day, 5 panel discussions are held with the participation of more than 50 local and international experts.
The International Translation Forum’s opening session will celebrate the Year of the Camel with a panel discussion entitled “Year of the Camel: A Journey Through the Lenses of Translation.”
Furthermore, the Forum will host 10 workshops designed to develop translation skills and introduce modern techniques in the translation sector, including AI applications, visual content dubbing, and the challenges of translating Japanese Manga. Participants can attend these workshops in-person or virtually.
Encouraging Collaboration
In addition, the International Translation Forum 2024 will feature an accompanying exhibition, with the participation of 30 local and international specialized translation institutions and professional associations.
This creates a unique opportunity for enhancing communication and exchanging expertise among translation stakeholders and professionals.
