Saudi Crown Prince Congratulates Trump, Seeks Stronger Strategic Ties

The Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, made on Wednesday a phone call with the US President-elect, Donald J. Trump, to congratulate him on his election victory, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the call, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed Saudi Arabia’s aspirations to reinforce the historical and strategic relations between the Kingdom and the US.

Moreover, the Saudi Crown Prince wished the friendly American people progress and prosperity under the leadership of Trump.

On his part, the newly-elected president extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Crown Prince for his congratulations and his good sentiments towards the American people.

Earlier on Wednesday, both the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, sent separate cables congratulating Trump on winning the US election and expressing aspirations to strengthen bilateral relations.

After a tight race against the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, Trump claimed victory in the US election 2024, returning to the White House to serve as the 47th president of the US. Trump won 51.0% of the popular votes, which grant him 292 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press (AP).

This historical comeback makes Trump the second US President to win two non-consecutive terms. It also marks the second time he has won over a female rival in a general election.
