Riyadh Brings Global Hit ‘WICKED’ to Middle East for First Time
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) hosted the premiere of the “WICKED the Musical” on December 3 at the King Fahd Cultural Center, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
In collaboration with Broadway Entertainment Group (BEG), the world-renowned musical “WICKED” has marked its Middle East debut in Riyadh, kicking off its regional tour.
The performance brought together several guests, media representatives, and prominent figures who enjoyed this acclaimed production that captured the attention of over 70 million viewers in more than 130 cities across 25 countries.
Set to run until January 3, 2026, the “WICKED” performances will feature more than 100 artists, technicians, and orchestra members, as well as large-scale stage designs that boast over 350 costumes
Interestingly, the premiere delivered a refined, high-caliber theatrical spectacle, boasting the musical’s most defining moments. The production also featured stunning shows by the iconic “Defying Gravity” sequence and concluded with an exceptional finale that captivated the audience and drew an enthusiastic engagement.
Hosting the “WICKED” represents a significant milestone in RCRC’s efforts to attract world-class cultural and artistic experiences in line with the ambitious objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
“Welcoming “WICKED” to the region for the first time reflects RCRC’s dedication to providing high-quality cultural and entertainment options for all segments of society, in line with the goals of the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030,” Vice President of the Lifestyle Sector at RCRC, Engineer Khalid bin Abdullah Alhazani, said.
