Welcoming Visitors, Expanding Destinations
In 2023, the Red Sea International welcomed its first wave of visitors, marking a pivotal moment for the company and the flourishing tourism sector in the Kingdom. Additionally, it revealed its third destination, ‘Thoul Private Resort,’ expanding its portfolio of development projects along the Red Sea coast.
CEO’s Vision for Sustainable, Responsible Tourism
CEO John Pagano stated, “Our efforts in establishing new tourist spots, leading responsible tourism, and promoting sustainable development have received overwhelming positive feedback. Despite environmental challenges, our resorts foster positive change by supporting communities, preserving heritage, and aiding in environmental conservation.”
He hopes that 2024’s goals will surpass expectations, continuing to shape renewable tourism’s future. This includes driving economic growth, creating jobs, protecting environments, and offering unique experiences at Red Sea, Amaala, and other destinations.”
Unique Attractions, Adventure Brands
The appeal of the destinations being developed by the Red Sea International lies in their untouched natural beauty, rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and world-class hospitality services. New adventure brands – ‘Akon,’ ‘Galaxia,’ and ‘Wama’ – play a key role in creating unprecedented and sustainable experiences, providing unique moments for visitors exploring these enchanting destinations.
Sustainable Travel Trends in 2023
2023 also saw a global shift towards more sustainable travel, as highlighted in the 2023 Sustainable Travel Report. The report revealed that 76% of international travelers insist on adopting more sustainable travel options in 2024.
Commitment to Coral Reef Conservation
The Red Sea International reaffirmed its commitment to coral reefs by pledging to protect and develop them in the Red Sea and beyond. It unveiled the new brand for its marine life center at Amaala, named Coralyum.
Environmental Initiatives, Renewable Energy
In 2024, the company intends to launch a coral reef hybridization lab to produce coral year-round. Meanwhile, the Red Sea International already opened its first mangrove nursery, planting one million seedlings, and plans to plant 50 million by 2030. Additionally, they’ve created over 20 acres (36,783 square meters) of chemical-free wetlands, enhancing biodiversity.
Furthermore, last week, the developer installed over 760,000 solar panels at five sites. Consequently, this powers the first phase of the Red Sea destination with solar energy, independent of the national grid.”
