Al-Sawaha, ITU Enhance Cooperation in Digital Economy

Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Sawaha, and ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan discussed enhancing cooperation and digital economy.
They focused on expanding partnerships for digital economy growth and leveraging opportunities in generative artificial intelligence, according to Al Sharq AlAwsat Newspaper.

The meeting in Switzerland, firstly, part of the Kingdom’s participation in Davos‘ World Economic Forum, focused on fostering partnerships and international cooperation. It, secondly, aimed to empower humanity, protect the planet, promote digital entrepreneurship and skills development.
Partnerships in Digital Economy, Innovation
Al-Sawaha met with global tech and innovation leaders to strengthen partnerships in the digital economy and innovation. They also discussed developing cloud computing, generative AI solutions, and enhancing digital skills in emerging technologies and local digital content.
Expanding Partnerships, Adopting Generative AI
Al-Sawaha discussed with Alexander Wang, CEO of ‘Skyle’, the importance of expanding partnerships, exchanging expertise, encouraging investment opportunities, and joint initiatives in adopting generative artificial intelligence, and the enablers of entrepreneurial work in the Kingdom.
Focus on 5G and 6G Technologies for Digital Growth
Finally, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawaha, met with the CEO of ‘Ericsson’, Borje Ekholm, to discuss the partnership in 5th and 6th generation technologies and digital infrastructure technologies to stimulate the growth of the digital economy and innovation.
