Red Sea Global Launches ‘Shebara’, Saudi Arabia’s Second Water Aerodrome

The General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) has granted the Red Sea Global (RSG) the operating license for Shebara water aerodrome at the Red Sea, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Located on Sheybarah Island, home to the iconic Shebara resort, Shebara is the second water aerodrome in the Kingdom after Ummahat Island.

GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej handed the license for the water aerodrome to the CEO of the RSG John Pagano after meeting all the requirements of the GACA’s executive regulations for aviation safety.

Al-Duailej explained in a statement that the license stands as a testament to GACA’s continuous efforts to create an attractive environment for investment, stressing the authority’s commitment to launch promising initiatives and programs to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Such initiatives include the “Red Sea” destination projects and “NEOM” projects.

In the same context, Pagano emphasized that this license represents a significant step towards the opening of the “Shebara” resort soon, where “Fly Red Sea” flights will start to transport visitors to and from this extraordinary resort.

He expressed his pride as “Fly Red Sea” becomes the first seaplane operator in the Kingdom, owning the first two licensed seaplanes to date, which boosts the group’s position as a pioneering destination in the tourism and aviation sectors in the Kingdom.
