Ports, Lloyd’s Register Sign Agreement to Unify Procedures

The General Ports Authority “Mawani” and the British classification authority “Lloyd’s Register” have concluded a partnership agreement to unify procedures for operational and maritime operations in Saudi ports. This initiative contributes to the separation of regulatory and operational roles in the port sector. It aligns with the national strategy for transport and logistics services.

This agreement aims to establish enhanced procedures that contribute to strengthening operational excellence. These procedures include the development of manuals and guidelines, such as preparing a Quality and Environmental Procedures Manual in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. This ensures compliance with the highest standards of environmental and quality performance. Additionally, it involves creating a Code of Good Practices to define responsibilities and operational procedures, thereby enhancing efficiency and organization.
