Music Authority Celebrates World Arabic Day at UN

The Music Authority is set to celebrate World Arabic Language Day from December 18 to 20 at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, United States, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

This event aligns with the 18th of December, observed globally as World Arabic Language Day each year.

The celebration is part of the Authority’s efforts to globally enhance the presence of the Arabic language through music, presenting it as a globally significant language open to various world languages and cultures.

Celebration Activities

The celebration will feature a classical Arabic song concert. The diverse musical performances by the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir. These performances aim to showcase the Arabic language’s rich poetry set to beautiful music, enriching the tastes of attendees from various nationalities.

The event will also highlight the aesthetics of Arabic poetry, emphasizing the Arabic language’s significance and enhancing its global presence.

Additionally, the celebration will showcase Saudi musical culture, its distinctiveness, and empower local musical talents to gain global recognition.

Objectives of  Music Authority

Through this celebration, the Music Authority aims to promote Classical Arabic. Furthermore, it highlights the language’s unique musical connection to the international community. Consequently, the event will focus on preserving and spreading Saudi cultural heritage and social values globally.

Moreover, it aims to foster creativity, boost Saudi content, and create job opportunities for Saudi youth. Additionally, it reflects the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to enhancing international cultural exchanges.

Therefore, this commitment is a strategic goal of the National Culture Strategy, part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
