The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed an agreement with Alissa Universal Motors to establish a logistics park at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Set to span over an area of 382,000 square meters, the project will feature an investment of up to SAR300 million.
Importantly, the park will be basically designed to re-import and export vehicles and spare parts.
The agreement was signed by Mawani’s Acting President, Mazen bin Ahmed Al-Turki, and Managing Director of Abdullatif Alissa Group Holding Abdullah Abdulmohsen Alissa.
As part of the authority’s initiatives to fulfill the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, the park will have great significance in logistics operations.
To this end, the park will involve a 7,000-square-meter warehouse for spare parts storage, along with a logistics area prepared for accommodating over 13,000 vehicles and trucks.
Therefore, it will play a pivotal role in boosting the competitive advantage of the port and elevating its position in the global rankings.
It further strengthens the position of King Abdulaziz Port as a global logistics hub that offers specialized logistics services and promotes economic diversification.
In line with the Saudi Vision 2030, the port significantly connects the Kingdom to global economies and is generally known for its integrated logistics facilities.
