Kingdom Extends Precautionary Measures 20 Days in Fight Against Covid-19
An official source at the Ministry of Interior stated that it stands by the statement issued on February 3, 2021, and that it has been decided to extend precautionary measures for a period of 20 additional days starting from Sunday 2/14/2021 based on what was submitted by the health authorities regarding the measures taken by the Kingdom to combat the emerging Corona virus (Covid 19).
In order to avoid the risks of the rise of the epidemic curve in the regions of the Kingdom, and with the apparent laxity in the application of preventive measures, subsequently precautionary measures must be applied.
In order to achieve optimal control over the epidemiological situation, the approved protocols, preserving the public health of society and the past period at all levels must be considered.
Due to the importance of completing two complete epidemiological cycles of applying the necessary precautionary measures, it has been decided to extend the following precautionary measures for a period of 20 additional days starting from 10 o’clock in the evening on Sunday 2/14/2021, so that the total is 30 days, which can be re-extended according to the requirements of the epidemiological situation:
1) The maximum number of people gathering in social events shall not exceed 20 persons.
2) Stopping all entertainment activities and events.
3) Closing down cinemas, indoor entertainment centers, and independent indoor game places or those located in restaurants, malls, etc., and gyms and sports centers.
4) Suspending the provision of internal ordering services in restaurants, cafes and the like, and limiting it to submitting external requests.
Moreover, the source noted the importance of everyone’s commitment to these measures, in addition to adhering to the other precautionary measures mentioned in the previous statement, related to events, meetings, gatherings, parties, and funerals.
The source added that all the aforementioned precautionary measures are subject to continuous evaluation by the competent authorities.
