Jafurah Gas Field to Begin Operations This Year: Aramco Chief

Saudi Aramco President and CEO Amin Nasser announced the initial operation of the Jafurah gas field will begin this year. “This milestone will enhance Saudi Aramco’s capabilities in the gas sector,” he stated. The onshore project, located in the Eastern Province, is the Kingdom’s largest unconventional non-associated gas field, owned and operated by Saudi Aramco.

Additionally, Nasser emphasized Aramco’s strong market position despite challenging conditions. “The market remains robust at record levels, reflecting confidence in our future performance,” he added. He highlighted that OPEC+’s gradual production increases will stabilize markets. “These decisions positively impact companies and ensure long-term stability,” he said.

Financial Strength and Future Projects

Furthermore, Nasser noted Aramco’s strong net income and rising core dividends as proof of the company’s flexibility. “Our low production costs and reliable operations drive industry-leading performance for shareholders and customers,” he explained.

Moreover, he revealed global oil demand hit new highs in 2024, with expectations for further growth in 2025. “Reliable and sustainable energy is vital for global economic growth,” he stressed, adding that Aramco is advancing projects to maintain maximum crude oil production capacity and expand gas capabilities.

Finally, Nasser outlined plans to integrate upstream and downstream operations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. “These initiatives create added value while supporting environmental goals,” he added.

“Our progress reflects Aramco’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and long-term global energy leadership,” Nasser concluded.
