A number of people were martyred and injured as a result of an Israeli missile attack that targeted the Iranian consulate building in Damascus.
At approximately 00:17 pm today, the Israeli enemy launched an air aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting the Iranian consulate building in Damascus. Our air defense media intercepted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them, according to Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The source added: The aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of everyone inside; work is underway to recover the bodies of the martyrs, treat the wounded, and remove the rubble.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited the headquarters of the Embassy in Damascus to check on the safety of its workers in the wake of the brutal Israeli terrorist aggression that targeted the Iranian Consulate building in Damascus.
During the visit, Minister Al-Miqdad had a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. He strongly condemned the fascist aggression against the diplomatic building and reaffirmed Syria’s support for Iran amidst the attacks it faces.
He noted the Zionist entity’s desperation following its failure in the war against Gaza, emphasizing that Israeli barbarism now targets even civilian and diplomatic objects protected by international law.
On his part, Minister Abdullahian expressed his thanks and appreciation to Al-Miqdad for his quick initiative to stand alongside his brothers in the Iranian embassy in Damascus, which represents a strong message of support and confirms once again that Syria and Iran stand together in the face of Israeli barbarism.
In a statement to reporters at the conclusion of the visit, Al-Miqdad stressed that the Israeli occupation entity will not be able to influence the relations between Iran and Syria, expressing his condemnation of the Israeli terrorist attack that targeted the Iranian consulate building.
Al-Miqdad said: “We at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran confirm once again that Israel cannot affect the relationship between the Syria and Iran.”
Al-Miqdad emphasized that “Israel,” as a racist entity, symbolizes global terrorism. The massacres in Gaza reveal the inhumanity of the Zionists, who relentlessly target humanity. This sentiment extends to supporters of “Israel,” particularly in the USA.
He condemned the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus as a heinous terrorist act, leading to innocent casualties.
Targeting embassies violates international law. He strongly condemned this criminal act by the Zionist enemy.
Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Hussein Akbari, affirmed that the attack on the Iranian consulate exposes the true nature of the Zionist entity which disregards international laws and resorts to inhumane actions to achieve its goals.
Akbari stressed that Iran continues to stand by the resistant peoples and is not afraid of the crimes and attacks of the usurping Zionist entity, noting that there is a responsibility on international institutions and organizations to stop Zionist crimes that violate international law.
