Mecca has warmly welcomed the first group of Italian pilgrims who arrived recently in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj 2024, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Chairman of the Company of Mutawifs for Pilgrims from African Non-Arab Countries Ahmed Sindi stated that the Italian pilgrims have received seamless services while completing all Hajj procedures.

Sindi commended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their efforts to ensure smooth and comfortable journeys for pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia has embarked on a wide range of preparations aimed at providing the pilgrims with smooth and comfortable journey.

The Kingdom has successfully integrated religious digital services, widely invested in technology and artificial intelligence, and professionally promoted applications and digital media.

During this season, it offers a special system using GPS and interactive digital maps to help pilgrims move around the holy sites.

The digital interactive map shows directions to all the facilities provided by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. They include doors, the library, restrooms, guidance offices, and the service of providing manual and electric carts, escalators, elevators, field hospitals, bridges, and maintenance and work areas.

Furthermore, the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has recently unveiled the operational plan for the Hajj season of 1445H. The plan is mainly focused on enriching the religious experience by launching 120 religious enrichment initiatives during 2024 season.

The Presidency has also approved the launch of 1,000 Quran memorization programs to spread Quran’s morals and moderate messages across the world.

Through this year’s plan, Saudi Arabia aims to foster the religious digital experience provided by the Two Holy Mosques.
