Hajj Season 2024: Pakistan Commends Saudi Arabia for Facilitating Hajj Procedures

Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussein has expressed his sincere gratitude to Saudi Arabia for facilitating Hajj procedures and providing pilgrims with exceptional services to ensure a seamless and smooth Hajj season, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Hussein has recently visited Madinah to oversee the services and facilities presented to Pakistani Pilgrims.
During his visit, Hussein delivered a remarkable statement in which he greatly commended the Kingdom’s efforts made to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of the guests of Allah.

He specifically praised the Saudi government for launching Makkah Route Initiative at Karachi International Airport, after the initiative succeeded at Islamabad International Airport.

Pakistani pilgrims have been arriving in Madinah since May 9 with over 20,000 pilgrims have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia under the government scheme.
Hajj season 2024 includes 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims, 63,805 will perform the fifth pillar of Islam under the government scheme while the rest of them will perform the rituals through private tour operators.

Hussein expressed his confidence that Makkah Route Initiative would be extended to Lahore Airport in the coming season.

According to the initiative, pilgrims can complete all necessary procedures, including electronic visa issuance, biometric data collection, and airport departure checks in their home country.

The initiative has served 617,756 pilgrims, since its launch in 2017, in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Information, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and the Guests of God Service Program.
