IABM Reserves Plant More Than Million Trees
The Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad (IABM) Royal Reserve Development Authority planted more than one million trees and shrubs. This initiative comes within its projects to develop vegetation in the Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Royal Reserve and the King Khalid Royal Reserve.

IABM Reserves
The Royal Natural Reserves were established under the supervision of the Royal Reserves Council in 2018.
As part of KSA plan to achieve Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is making tremendous efforts to contribute to protecting the environment, its natural and historical resources as well as confronting environmental challenges.
These reserves include the IABM Reserve and the King Khalid Royal Reserve.
It is noteworthy that the Authority has begun projects to develop and enhance vegetation cover since 2021. As a result, these projects will reflect on increasing the green area, contributing to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and improving the quality of life.
Different types of trees
IABM Reserves planted more than a million trees and shrubs in the two reserves, as it included different types of trees. In addition, it planted many other species that suit the topography and nature of the two reserves.
Furthermore, it emphasized that the trees planted were carefully chosen to support the Green Saudi Initiative and meet IABM’s strategic aims.
Ecosystems
Ecosystems provide numerous essential services, including air and water purification, soil formation, pollination, and climate regulation. They also support biodiversity by offering a variety of niches and habitats for different species.
So, the IABM Reserves continue to plant trees and shrubs because of its major role in reducing carbon emissions and reducing the severity of sand storms, in addition to its impact on the ecosystems of local endangered species.
