HRH Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Riyadh

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh.

 

At the beginning of the session, HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on a message received from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which addressed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries.

Regional, International Developments

The Cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the mission of the Board of Peace in Gaza as a transitional authority aimed at ending the conflict, facilitating reconstruction, and promoting long-term security and stability for the region and its peoples.

Economic Engagements, Global Forums

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Cabinet praised the participation of the Kingdom’s delegation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, noting the tangible progress achieved toward Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

The Cabinet also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the WEF Global Collaboration and Growth Meeting on April 22–23, underscoring the Kingdom’s role in enhancing global economic stability and strengthening dialogue between developed and developing economies to address shared challenges.

Labor Market, Humanitarian Initiatives

The Cabinet expressed appreciation for the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the third edition of the Global Labor Market Conference in Riyadh. Additionally, it commended the resulting agreements focused on workforce empowerment, the use of artificial intelligence, and the development of sustainable ecosystems.

Growth and Development in the Saudi Labor Market

The Cabinet further praised the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) for launching its 2026 plan. Moreover, it  includes 422 humanitarian projects worldwide, reflecting the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to providing aid and assistance to those in need.

Development Programs, Infrastructure Progress

The Cabinet reviewed several reports on completed and ongoing projects within the Kingdom’s comprehensive development framework. It commended the rapid progress of the Housing Program, which increased the citizen homeownership rate to 66.2% by the end of 2025, benefiting more than one million citizens.

The Cabinet also highlighted that over 700 international companies have established their regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the Kingdom’s advanced infrastructure and attractive investment environment.

 

Aviation, Transport Expansion

The Cabinet reviewed the opening of the new expansion at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. It also noted the inauguration of Al-Jouf International Airport. Together, these milestones strengthen air connectivity, enhance the passenger experience, and support economic and developmental growth. Moreover, they align with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030.

Cabinet Decisions

The Cabinet addressed other agenda items and issued several decisions, including the following:

First

Authorizing the Minister of Energy, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Turkish side a draft intergovernmental agreement on renewable energy plant projects.

Second

Authorizing the Minister of Interior, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Turkish side a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in civil defense and civil protection.

Third

Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Trinidad and Tobago side a draft general cooperation agreement.

Fourth

Authorizing the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Bangladeshi side a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in areas related to date palm cultivation and the date sector.

Fifth

Approving a draft memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye on cooperation in the field of social services.

Sixth

Approving a draft agreement between Saudi Arabia and Morocco on the mutual encouragement and protection of investments.

Seventh

Approving a draft general cooperation agreement between Saudi Arabia and Estonia.

Eighth

Authorizing the Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors to discuss and sign draft memoranda of understanding with the Institute of Internal Auditors of the United Kingdom and the New York Institute of Internal Auditors of the United States, covering cooperation in internal auditing, governance, risk, and compliance.

Ninth

Finally, approving draft air transport services agreements between Saudi Arabia and the governments of Mongolia, Saint Lucia, Algeria, Latvia, São Tomé and Príncipe, and South Africa.
