Greek Prime Minister Visits AlUla as Part of Saudi Arabia Trip

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the historic Hegra region in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

 

Hegra Archaeological Site holds the distinction of being Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage property. It is the largest conserved site of the Nabataean civilization south of Petra in Jordan and is renowned for its monumental tombs adorned with intricate facades, dating back to the 1st century BCE through the 1st century CE.

During his visit, Mitsotakis explored notable landmarks in Hegra, including Qasr Al-Farid, a tomb dating to the 1st century CE, and Qasr Al-Bint, the site’s most renowned necropolis. He also toured Mount Athlab, a key attraction in the AlUla region.
