Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited the Sharaan Resort project in AlUla, northwest Saudi Arabia, meeting its dedicated staff.
The Crown Prince reviewed the resort’s plans in February 2019, showing interest in its ambitious design and cultural goals.
Nestled in the Sharaan Nature Reserve, the resort features luxurious accommodations carved into mountains, offering a unique natural setting. The project, launched in June 2023, aligns with the “AlUla Vision” to develop AlUla into a premier global tourism destination. The resort contributes to preserving AlUla’s history and heritage while boosting economic growth and diversifying Saudi Arabia’s tourism offerings.

Sharaan Resort’s design blends with the Sharaan Reserve’s environment, combining innovative architecture and sustainable practices for an exceptional experience. The resort employs advanced construction techniques that align with the “AlUla Sustainability Charter,” prioritizing ecological balance and resource conservation. Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, the Sharaan Resort draws inspiration from ancient Nabatean architecture, showcasing timeless artistry. The Royal Commission for AlUla envisioned this resort as an architectural masterpiece rooted in the region’s rich cultural legacy. The project includes 25 suites, 10 luxury tented suites, and 5 villas with private spaces for exclusive guest experiences.
Amenities like three restaurants, a spa, and tailored facilities will elevate the resort into a world-class destination for travelers. Sharaan Resort’s seamless integration with nature embodies Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, promoting sustainable luxury tourism with historical significance.
