The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has inked 23 contracts valued at over SAR 1.75 billion ($467 million) with private sector partners. These agreements aim to enhance infrastructure and superstructure projects across multiple industrial cities, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Key Projects Include:
- Ready-Built Factories: Construction of 171 factories, each covering 900 square meters, in Dammam, Jeddah, Al-Kharj, and Sudair industrial cities. An additional 76 factories will be built in Jeddah’s food cluster.
- Infrastructure Enhancements: Upgrades to Madinah’s industrial city and the expansion of MODON Oasis in Al-Ahsa, including external road links. A new 4.5-kilometer access road will connect Asir’s industrial city to the main highway.
- Road and Facility Improvements: Rehabilitation of a 10-kilometer road in Sudair Industrial and Business City, as well as phase two of infrastructure upgrades in Dammam’s third industrial city.
Safety and Facility Upgrades
MODON has also committed to building a fire station in Dammam’s First Industrial City and enhancing safety measures by installing gates and fencing in Al-Kharj. Additionally, projects will expand and upgrade Riyadh’s second industrial city.
Supporting Vision 2030
These initiatives align with MODON’s 2024 strategy to boost investment environments in industrial cities through public-private collaboration. They contribute to the National Industrial Strategy and Vision 2030 goals, focusing on:
- Simplifying operations and reducing investor burdens.
- Fostering innovation and sustainable development.
- Enhancing industrial production capacity.
These developments aim to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector and promote economic diversification.
