The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has announced that the winners of the MODON Excellence Award will be revealed on Dec. 22.
This initiative, under the patronage of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, reflects MODON’s commitment to fostering a world-class industrial ecosystem. It emphasizes the adoption of best practices in digital transformation, research and innovation, and business sustainability.
The award also aims to empower women in the workplace, strengthen the leadership role of factories, and promote the integration of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in the development of innovative products.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Human Capacity Development, Faris Al-Saqabi, stated that the MODON Excellence Award was designed to inspire healthy competition among factories and individuals in the industrial sector. Additionally, he emphasized that innovation and collaboration are key drivers of societal progress and the creation of a sustainable, thriving industrial landscape. The award celebrates groundbreaking initiatives that demonstrate creativity, dedication, and a commitment to raising industrial standards.
Promoting Competition
Mamdooh Al-Drees, MODON’s deputy CEO, highlighted that the award encourages excellence within the industrial sector by promoting competition and fostering a culture of creativity and innovation. The initiative also seeks to enhance operational efficiency, boost productivity, and improve the quality of industrial operations and outputs.
Ultimately, the award aims to enrich the industrial cities and technology zones ecosystem by advocating for sustainable environmental practices, advancing the adoption of state-of-the-art industrial technologies, and enhancing product and service quality. It also supports the integration of automation into diverse processes and operations.
Moreover, the inaugural edition of the award, themed “Makers of Excellence,” comprises three main categories: Individuals, which includes subcategories for Leadership Excellence and Promising Woman; Small Enterprises; and Medium and Large Industrial Enterprises.
These categories recognize achievements in critical areas such as environmental sustainability, innovation, digital transformation, social responsibility, and human capacity development.
