Saudi Industry Min. Explores Industrial Cooperation with Hong Kong

The Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, held bilateral meetings with government officials in Hong Kong, as part of his visit to East Asia, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the meetings, Al-Khorayef discussed boosting industrial cooperation and transferring knowledge, innovation and smart manufacturing solutions. Furthermore, he highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strategic advantages that position the Kingdom as an attractive investment hub for major global companies.

Moreover, Al-Khorayef reviewed the positive economic transformations in the Kingdom over the past few years, and their role in developing the industry and mining sectors.

The Saudi Minister also discussed joint investment opportunities in automation, in line with the Saudi Future Factories Initiative. He invited companies in Hong Kong to invest in the Saudi promising industrial sectors.

In addition, Al-Khorayef met with the Director of the Trade and Industry Department, officials from the Innovation and Technology Commission, and the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong. They explored the prospects for bolstering relations between the Kingdom and Hong Kong and the opportunities to enhance cooperation between both sides in the industrial sector.

Several Saudi officials attended the meetings, including Deputy Minister of Industry for Planning and Development, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ahmari; CEO of the Saudi Industrial Center, Saleh Al-Solami; and CEO of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), Majed Al-Argoubi. The Saudi Consul-General to Hong Kong, Hamad Al-Jibreen, also attended the meetings.

Al-Khorayef’s meetings with Hong Kong officials are part of his official economic tour to East Asia, including China and Singapore. The tour aims to enhance bilateral relations, attract targeted investments to the Kingdom, and explore investment opportunities in the industrial sector.
