Red Sea International has announced that Shura Links, its golf club on Shura Island in the Red Sea destination, is scheduled to open in 2025, reported Ajel.SA.
Shura Links is a unique golf experience, as it will offer the first golf course in Saudi Arabia that contains 18 holes, including underwater holes, in addition to views of the marina. Moreover, it will boast amazing playing areas surrounded by the waters of the Red Sea.
Shura Links will be developed in line with the highest standards of sustainability, addressing a number of details simultaneously, such as: reducing water consumption, and innovative reuse of irrigation water, which will develop natural habitats.
The CEO of Red Sea Global John Pagano said that Shura Links will provide an unparalleled golf experience, on a course that embraces the eye-catching nature here in the Red Sea.
The Red Sea explained that this iconic club was designed by Foster & Partners. It follows the general design concept of Coral Bloom on Shura Island, which was also designed by Foster & Partners, and takes its inspiration from the elements of unique plant and animal life.
In the Kingdom, the course was designed in partnership with international golf architect Brian Curley, designer of the largest golf facility in the world, Mission Hills Golf Club.
The Shura Links course is 7,500 yards (6,858 meters) long, and next to each hole it offers several ball stands.
