GCF, WEF Launch Global Center for Cyber Economics in Riyadh

The Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have launched the Center for Cyber Economics (CCE) in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

On the sidelines of the WEF Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos, the GCF and the WEF on Thursday signed an agreement to establish the center. The CCE will serve as a global platform to explore the economic dimensions of cybersecurity.

Moreover, the center will provide reliable data and in-depth studies to enable decision-makers to foster a deep understanding of the close relationship between economics and cybersecurity. These studies also provide robust tools to develop policies and strategies that protect the global economy and strengthen cybersecurity worldwide.

On this occasion, the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority and the Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the GCF, Majed bin Mohammed Al-Mazyed, noted that the establishment of the Riyadh Center for Cyber Economics aligns with Saudi Arabia‘s status as a global cybersecurity leader.

The Kingdom’s successful cybersecurity approach has gained global recognition for its accomplishments at the local, regional and international levels, he added.

Furthermore, the establishment of the center adds to the achievements of the GCF in the cybersecurity sector since its founding in 2023.

Al-Mazyed also said that the CCE is part of Saudi Arabia’s contributions to building international platforms and launching global initiatives across various fields related to cybersecurity.

These efforts aim to foster cybersecurity knowledge, boost cooperation, and leverage opportunities within the sector to promote cyber resilience and advance prosperity across the world.
