Foreign Students Tour Saudi Town, Al-Dakhlah under Kingdom Gateway Program

The Kingdom Gateway program has recently provided a foreign student delegation with an exclusive opportunity to visit Al-Dakhlah town in the Sudair region, 170 km north of Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, the program seeks to explore Saudi Arabia’s rich history and great civilization.

Interestingly, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Muhanna, former advisor at the Ministry of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources, accompanied the students on their tour.

The tour included the most significant historical landmarks at Al-Dakhlah.

They began with the old palace which offers a delve into the region’s rich heritage and architectural legacy.

Then, the delegation also visited the historic Al-Dakhlah Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the region.

During the tour, Al-Muhanna delivered a lecture highlighting the pivotal role of oil in national development. In the same context, he showcased the Kingdom’s journey in leveraging its petroleum resources to lead comprehensive growth across various sectors.

“The discovery of oil and its escalating economic importance brought about profound transformations across all sectors of the Kingdom. However, these changes did not come at the expense of Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted heritage and culture. On the contrary, oil has been instrumental in both preserving and advancing them,” Al-Muhanna said.
