Emir of Medina Region Visits Al-Ghamama Historical Mosques
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Medina Region, visited the historical mosques in Al-Ghamama area.
The Emir is also the Chairman of the Council of Medina Region development authority.
He was accompanied during his visit by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, the Chairman of the Program Committee for Serving the Guests of God, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.

Additionally, the Emir’s visit included a tour of the mosques of the revered companions Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and Omar bin Al-Khattab.
His visit to these mosques serves as a testament to the region’s unwavering commitment to preserving its historical and religious sites.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the historical mosques in Al-Ghamama Square have witnessed many restoration and renovation operations in past eras.
During those eras, they were cared for and their construction were renewed until this prosperous era. This in turn, enriches the experience of visitors to Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.
Medina Region
Also, Medina Region, the second holiest city in Islam, is known as home to the most significant and historical mosques in the world. Additionally, these mosques hold great religious and historical significance.
Historical Mosques
One of the most famous mosques in Medina is Al-Masjid an-Nabawi. Another mosque is the Quba Mosque; it is the first mosque to be built in Islam. The Masjid al-Qiblatain is another significant mosque in Medina. It has unique architectural design and historical importance.
This mosque became an important edifice when Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to change (Qibla-direction towards the Kaabah) from Jerusalem to Mecca.
Additionally, another name for Al-Ghamama Mosque is the Mosque of the Clouds. The name was referred to an event where a cloud provided shade for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
