Discover ‘The Lab’: First Fashion Industry Studio in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Fashion Commission launched “The Lab”, Saudi Arabia’s first-of-its-kind studio designed to revolutionize fashion manufacturing process, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Fashion Commission celebrated on Tuesday the launch of the first Saudi fashion studio in the heart of Riyadh. The celebration took place at The Lab’s headquarters in the Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City, “Misk City,” in Riyadh.

The event paved the way for further support and innovation to elevate the fashion industry in the Kingdom, especially with the attendance of officials, industry specialists, media representatives, and numerous government entities. The Lab offers an exclusive opportunity for local designers and businesses to showcase their creativity under the “Made in Riyadh” label.

Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Fashion Commission, underscored that The Lab stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s proactive stance on prosperity and progress of the fashion industry in the Kingdom.

Cakmak clarified that the newly established studio facilitates the fashion manufacturing process, gathering local designers and brands and enabling them to easily and efficiently achieve their creative visions. He added that the new project represents a qualitative leap and an unprecedented initiative in the fashion industry in the Kingdom.

Commenting on the launch, Misk City CEO David Henry highlighted that the studio plays a central role in promoting fashion products in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, the studio seeks to support cooperation in the education and training programs for young Saudi designers and unleash new horizons for investment in the fashion sector.

Henry shed light on Misk City’s contribution to fostering national retail brands in the fashion sector and supporting and developing small and medium-sized local companies.

The Lab is anticipated to be an international destination for all fashion lovers with ambitious goals to host fashion events and festivals in Misk City.
