Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets OIC Sec. Gen.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji welcomed in the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh today, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, reported Saudi Press Agency.

During the meeting, El-Khereiji and the OIC Secretary General reviewed cooperation between the Kingdom and the OIC in various fields. They also discussed the most prominent developments on the regional and international arenas and the efforts exerted in this regard.

Previous Meetings

Earlier, El-Khereiji met with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Bangladesh Muhammad Hasan, on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.

During the meeting, they reviewed the ties of cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed ways to enhance and develop these ties in various fields.

Additionally, they discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts exerted in this regard, reported Saudi Press Agency.

IGAD summit

On behalf of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, El-Khereiji, participated in the IGAD summit at the leaders’ level. The summit was held in the Republic of Uganda.

El-Khereiji delivered a speech in which he expressed the Kingdom’s position in strengthening Saudi-African relations, reported Saudi Press Agency. The Kingdom will reinforce its ties with African countries and the member states of the IGAD organization.

El-Khereiji emphasized the Kingdom’s utmost commitment to preserving the unity of Somalia and Sudan and the integrity of their territories. Preserving their unity would contribute to maintaining security, stability, and integration in the region.

The Deputy Minister stated that the Kingdom’s stance on the Sudanese crisis is to maintain the unity of Sudan and the integrity of its territory.
