CSTC Releases 3rd Edition of “Sustainability in Space, Technology” Report

The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission has issued the third edition of the “Sustainability in the Communications, Space, and Technology Sector” report, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Moreover, the report reviews digital sustainability and the authority’s efforts in using modern technologies and innovative business models for a sustainable future. This aligns with its C.I.R.C.L.E.S strategy, including promoting a circular digital economy, launching the first global guide for digital sustainability strategies, and developing e-waste regulations in three countries. Additionally, it includes hosting the Global Space Debris Conference with the Saudi Space Agency to address space debris challenges and risks.
The report also highlighted 13 success stories from more than 16 entities from both the public and private sectors in the Kingdom, showcasing the Kingdom’s commitment to environmental, economic, and social sustainability initiatives across various vital sectors. Additionally, the digital infrastructure was emphasized for its role as a key enabler for other sectors.
