
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has opened a public consultation to gather feedback on its proposed Space Sector Regulations and Guidelines document.
The initiative seeks to stimulate space-sector activities and ensure their effective implementation, enhance transparency in licensing and permit procedures, create an attractive investment environment in the Kingdom, and promote research and innovation in the space field.

According to CST, the document establishes a comprehensive regulatory framework and guidelines covering a wide range of space activities. These include the operation of space objects, crewed and uncrewed space flights, spaceports, space resources, space surveillance and tracking, the national registry of space objects and launch operations, sustainability requirements, and insurance guidelines for space activities.
It also details licensing and permit rules, including validity periods and requirements, and outlines the obligations of operators and authorized entities.
CST has invited all relevant stakeholders and interested parties, both within and outside the Kingdom, to submit their comments and to support their feedback with detailed analyses and comparative studies.
