As the golden season of dates dawns across Saudi Arabia, all eyes turn to Buraidah, where the annual harvest emerges as a living festival of heritage, commerce, and pride.
This year, the Buraidah Dates Carnival returns on August 1, welcoming farmers and traders for a 75-day run, continuing through October 14.

Dates City (Palm Center) anchors the carnival as the Kingdom’s premier marketplace for dates, hosting daily trading activities that connect growers, merchants and buyers. Apart from this, the commercial exchange, exhibitions further enrich the experience by highlighting the industry’s products, innovations and growing economic significance.
Further enriching this momentum, Rifiyah Farm adds a cultural aspect to the carnival, inviting visitors to discover the agricultural roots and rural identity that have shaped Qassim for generations. By seamlessly blending authentic farm experiences with cultural events, the venue creates a dynamic celebration of the region’s heritage.
A Hub for Trade and Investment
The carnival perfectly mirrors the remarkable scale of Qassim’s dates industry. Standing out as the Kingdom’s largest agricultural and commercial event dedicated to dates, it shines a spotlight on the growing sector that produces nearly 587,000 tons annually, reinforcing Qassim’s reputation as Saudi Arabia’s leading date-producing region.
Housing an estimated 12 million palm trees, Qassim has cultivated one of the Kingdom’s most valuable agricultural ecosystems. The carnival reflects that strength, generating around SAR4 billion in annual economic returns while creating more than 4,000 direct and indirect jobs.
