Saudi students started to shine at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Exhibition (ISEF 2024), showcasing advanced projects in different fields.
Faisal Alsayary is one of the 35 students that were selected to represent the Kingdom in the global science fair held in Los Angeles, United States of America from May 10 to 18.
Alsayary is participating with a promising project revolved around the embedded systems. It aims to innovate cutting-edge techniques in electronic devices to make them smaller and consume less energy.
He proudly expressed his excitement to represent the Kingdom in 2024 Fair. “I’m very excited to represent Saudi Arabia on the international level especially because of Vision 2030,” Alsayary said. Moreover, he underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to pioneering the world with state-of-the -art research and development.
Alsayary expressed his gratitude to his parents for their unlimited support and to the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” for organizing this competition.
Among the talented Saudi participants is Lana Almazrouei who represents Jeddah Education Department in ISEF 2024.
Almazrouei has presented advanced research on cell and stem biology, based on a specific protein that can treat inflammation and aging-associated diseases.
She has thanked the Ministry of Education and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology as they provided her with a valuable opportunity to do her research in the organization’s labs and centers.
In 2022, Almazrouei has unveiled state-of-the-art research themed “Artemisia Essential Oil Loaded Nano Emulsion for Anti-diabetic Applications”, which included a “Nano emulsion” extracted from natural oils to treat diabetes.
Currently, she aspires to publish her research on the international level to make a real difference in the scientific community and serve humanity.
It is noteworthy that students nominated for ISEF 2024 have underwent intensive training by elite Saudi and foreign academic trainers before traveling to the United States of America. Representing King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), these students will join participants from 70 countries, taking part in the world’s largest and most renowned pre-college scientific research and innovation competition.
