Al Hilal Clinch Fourth Saudi Pro League Title, Leaving Ronaldo Empty-Handed

Al Hilal made history as they secured their fourth Saudi Pro League title in five years, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo without silverware in the highly competitive league.

Despite losing Neymar Junior to injury in October, Al Hilal defeated bottom-placed Al Hazm 4-1, establishing an insurmountable 12-point lead over Ronaldo’s Al Nassr with three matches remaining.

This title marks a remarkable campaign for Al Hilal, who maintain an unbeaten streak of 31 league matches and achieved a record-breaking run of 34 consecutive wins across all competitions, setting a new benchmark for top-flight teams.

Under the guidance of Jorge Jesus, the Riyadh-based club has emerged as the dominant force in what is considered the most anticipated Saudi season in history, triggered by Ronaldo’s arrival in January of the previous year, which attracted a wave of high-profile signings.

Notable veterans such as Neymar, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, N’Golo Kante, and Riyad Mahrez were enticed to join the ranks of Saudi clubs, capitalizing on the country’s status as the world’s largest oil exporter and the lucrative contracts on offer.

Al Hilal’s next focus will be to thwart Ronaldo’s ambitions once again as they face city rivals Al Nassr in the King’s Cup final on 31 May.
