King Salman Chairs Jeddah’s Cabinet Session

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, chaired the Cabinet session held in Jeddah on Tuesday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The session tackled the growing cooperative relations between the Kingdom and other countries across the globe.

The discussions highlighted the energy agreements and deals signed between the Kingdom and Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Furthermore, the meeting underscored the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference.

The Agenda of the Session

The agenda of the session was full of decisions and discussions, including the following:

1- Approving a successful agreement between the Kingdom and Jorden to enhance the energy cooperation.

2- Signing a MoU between Saudi Ministry of Energy and Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy.

3- Announcing a MoU between Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabes Abroad of Burkina Faso on political consultations.

4- Approving a MoU to enhance the cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.

5- Authorizing the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance to sign a MoU with the Islamic Sheikhdom of Georgia to develop the Islamic cooperation.

6- Signing a MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and the Somali Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.

7- Approving a strategic agreement between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries to foster the agricultural scientific research.

8- Unveiling a MoU between the Saudi National Center for Meteorology and the Tunisian National Institute of Meteorology to bolster the scientific cooperation in metrological studies.

9- Approving two MoUs between the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Moroccan Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to increase the mineral wealth and mineral resources.

10- Granting the Kingdom the accession to the Geneva Act of The Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs.

11- Authorizing the Minister of Economy and Planning to sign MoUs with the following entities:

  • The National Center for Statistics and Information in the Sultanate of Oman
  • The Planning and Statistics Authority of Qatar
  • The Central Statistical Bureau of Kuwait
  • The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center in the United Arab Emirates

12- Authorizing the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority to sign a MoU with the Qatari Administrative Control and Transparency Authority to combat corruption crimes.

13- Signing a MoU between the Saudi Central Bank and the Qatar Central Bank to enrich their mutual relations.

14- Approving the Implementation of a procedure stipulating the adoption of the final draft of amended regulations exempting industrial inputs from fees and taxes. The procedure was primarily presented in the 120th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
