Billy Joe Armstrong Rocks Coachella Festival with Song Against War in Gaza

Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of the famous band Green Day, surprised everyone during his performance at the Coachella 2025 festival in California when he delivered a song expressing his opposition to the senseless war being waged by Israel on Gaza. He also voiced his frustration with the continued U.S. support for the war.

Controversial Performance Details

On April 14, 2025, Armstrong unexpectedly performed a new song titled “Children Under Fire” during his Coachella set. The song featured shocking lyrics:

“These American bombs are killing children in cold blood…How many bodies does Israel need to be satisfied?”

The song lasted three minutes and was accompanied by a backdrop of images showing victims of the Israeli bombing of Gaza. The performance received a standing ovation from the crowd but was met with immediate condemnation from Zionist organizations.

The Israeli newspaper published an article titled: “The American Punk Singer Turns into a Platform for Hatred.” The song was described as “a blatant exploitation of the artistic stage to spread anti-Semitic propaganda under the guise of human rights,” according to the paper.

Celebrity Support:

Singer Billie Eilish expressed her support for the performance, stating on Instagram: “Real art expresses human suffering.”

Meanwhile, actor Seth Rogen voiced criticism, saying: “This glorifies violence, not a call for peace.”

Response from Armstrong

At a press conference following the concert, he said: “I have no regrets… art must disturb power when it commits crimes.”
