Arab-Islamic Summit: Saudi Crown Prince Stresses Support for Palestine, Lebanon
The Joint Arab-Islamic Follow-Up Summit has on Monday kicked off in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, with the attendance of leaders and representatives of over 50 nations.
The Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, has inaugurated the summit. During his speech, the Crown Prince said that the summit is held amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, reiterating the Kingdom’s rejection of Israel’s crimes in Gaza.
Steadfast Support
The Saudi Crown Prince emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause and pointed to the success achieved in rallying more countries to recognize the State of Palestine, stressing the urgent need for an independent Palestinian state, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
Furthermore, Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of the Israeli military operations in Lebanon, stressing Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples. He also said that the Kingdom rejects attacks against the Iranian territories.
Arab-Islamic Follow-Up Summit
Saudi Arabia has called for Joint Arab-Islamic Follow-Up Summit in Riyadh to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, as well as the latest developments in the region.

The summit will follow up on the outcomes of the first Arab-Islamic Summit, held in November 2023. On Sunday, ministers convened in the preparatory ministerial meeting, chaired by the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, to explore the summit’s agenda and draft resolution.
Wide Participation
Arab and Islamic leaders started arriving in Riyadh on Sunday and Monday to participate in the summit upon Saudi Arabia’s invitation. They include the UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan; the Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi; Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa; and the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas.
Moreover, attendees include King of Jordan, Abdullah II; Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council President, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan; Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan; Qatar ruler, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani; Kuwait Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; Iran First Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref; Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi; and president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
