Saudi Arabia Calls for Summit on Israeli Aggression against Palestine, Lebanon

In the light of the continued Israeli aggression on the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, Saudi Arabia has called for a joint Arab-Islamic follow-up summit on November 11, 2024.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry reiterated the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of Israeli crimes and violations against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

The summit will be a follow-up to the joint Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh on November 11, 2023. It will discuss the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, and the latest developments in the region.

The announcement came on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and in continuation of the efforts made by the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, in coordination with leaders of other Arab and Islamic countries.

On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia hosted the first High-Level Meeting of the Global Alliance for the implementation of the Two-State Solution in Riyadh, with the participation of around 90 states and international organizations in the two-day meeting.

During his speech, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, called for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine and the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors to provide relief to Gaza, according to Arab News.

“Genocide is happening with the goal of evicting the Palestinian people from their land, which Saudi Arabia rejects,” Prince Faisal said. He added that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is “catastrophic due to the Israeli blockade,” and that international condemnations are no longer enough to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
