Al-Sadoun: Digital Transformation to Improve Quality of Services
The CEO of the National Transformation Program Thamir bin Abdullah Al-Sadoun, affirmed that Saudi Arabia is striving to build a vibrant society, thriving economy, and an ambitious nation, reported Saudi Press Agency.
He also added that digital transformation would contribute to improving the quality of services in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. This improvement aims to support sustainable development and achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Sadoun’s Remarks
In his speech at the “Digital Government Forum,” Al-Sadoun explained that the National Transformation Program is one of the executive programs that has achieved 35% of its strategic objectives. These objectives focus on developing infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Moreover, he stated that today there are over 6000 government services provided electronically. This accounts for about 97% of all government services. These include platforms like Absher, Tawakkalna, Najiz portal, tourist visas, legal agencies, and other services available 24/7 for citizens, visitors, and residents.
Furthermore, Al-Sadoun noted that these collaborative efforts have significantly advanced Saudi Arabia in the field of digital government. The effect was regional, local and international.
The Kingdom has made significant progress in the World Bank’s 2022 GovTech Maturity Index, ranking third globally among 198 countries and first regionally.
It also achieved its highest historical score in the United Nations’ E-Government Development Index for 2022, reaching the 31st position.
He also elaborated that the National Transformation Program, in collaboration with the Digital Government Authority, has launched several initiatives. These initiatives aim to develop and enhance digital government and promote positive competition. This includes announcing the Digital Government Award and the results of the digital transformation assessment for 2023.
