Al‑Jubeir Links Bedouin Heritage to Saudi Arabia’s Sustainable Tourism Strategy

The Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Affairs Envoy, Adel Al-Jubeir, highlighted how Bedouin traditions are rooted in the Kingdom’s cultural heritage during his talk at the 2025 TOURISE Summit in Riyadh.

“We are originally Bedouins. We believe that we do not live on this earth, but we live with the earth. So, when we protect the earth, the earth protects us. When we protect the seas, the seas protect us. That is the approach that we use,” Al-Jubeir said.

He also noted that tourism should respect the environment and offer visitors unparallelled experiences they cannot find anywhere else, according to Gulf Press.

“We are merchants and traders. We believe in opportunity for Saudis as well as non-Saudis and so, I encourage people to come and see what we have, great mountains, great beaches, great corals, great deserts, great people, great culture, and great food,” he added.

Al-Jubeir’s remarks underscore the deep link between Saudi heritage and forward‑looking initiatives, affirming that the Kingdom’s environmental commitment is both cultural and strategic.

During the summit, he also emphasized the need for sustainability in tourism, noting that preserving nature while offering genuine cultural experiences helps Saudi destinations attract more visitors.

Moreover, the minister extended an invitation to international visitors, encouraging them to discover Saudi Arabia’s untouched beauty, cultural heritage, and avenues for partnership.

“I would say come to Arabia and look at the opportunities and be our partner because we are taking this road and we are moving very robustly,” Al-Jubeir said.
