The Al-Aan Heritage Palace in Najran, built in 1100 AH, sits atop Mount Al-Aan. As visitors ascend, they’re greeted with views of palm plantations, heritage villages, the historic Raum Castle, and Mount Abu Hamdan. This scene, blending modern architecture with natural beauty, creates a captivating image.
The Al-Aan Heritage Palace consists of 4 floors built in a unique architectural style of heritage houses that reflect the identity and history of the Najrani community. It was built of mud, and its ceilings are made of wood, palm trunk, fronds, tamarisk and sidr trees. The palace is also surrounded by several circular and rectangular towers to protect it and the surrounding area.
During the past years, the palace has also witnessed great interest through its restoration to become a tourist landmark in the Najran region which is rich in heritage and history.
