Saudi Arabia, Estonia Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Saudi Arabia and Estonia have fostered bilateral cooperation with a new agreement signed in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

On Wednesday, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, received his Estonian counterpart, Margus Tsahkna, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.

During the reception, the two ministers discussed avenues for enhancing ties between Saudi Arabia and Estonia. They also explored ways to exchange expertise and promote investment partnerships, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and strengthening relations for the benefit and prosperity of both nations and their peoples.

After the meeting, the Saudi and Estonian Foreign Ministers signed a general cooperation agreement between both governments to consolidate the bonds of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Estonia.

The agreement aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in the economic, trade, investment, educational, and technological fields. It also encourages economic, trade and investment cooperation across various sectors, including projects related to communications, information technology, green technology, petroleum, petrochemicals, agriculture, and healthcare.

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Estonia, Nisreen Al-Shibl, attended the meeting.

The Estonian Foreign Minister, on his part, praised the agreement as an “important step toward building long-term economic ties and deepening mutual trust.”

Moreover, he said that his meeting with Prince Faisal bin Farhan involved comprehensive discussion on the latest developments in Europe and the Middle East, including Israel’s attack in Doha, Russia-Ukraine war, and the violation of Polish airspace. He noted that all these issues indicate that “the principle of sovereignty is under serious threat.”

“To safeguard global stability, we must stand united in defending the core principles of independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” the Estonian Foreign Minister said.
