Launched under the Year of Handicrafts 2025 initiative, the space combines heritage with contemporary creativity, offering an interactive platform for local and international artisans to showcase their creative work.

Over July and August, Zawiya 97 came alive with creativity, hosting over 60 workshops that introduced more than 30 traditional crafts to over 400 participants.

From gypsum carving and wood decoration to mosaic art, soap making, and recycling, the workshops provided participants with a hands-on journey into the richness of heritage and the possibilities of sustainable design.

Moreover, Zawiya 97 also serves as a marketplace for creativity, offering exhibitors an exceptional platform to showcase their products, support local brands, and foster the creative economy.

By enabling artisans to share their skills with future generations, Zawiya 97 preserves Saudi Arabia’s cultural identity while turning a historic site into a vibrant contemporary platform for creativity and innovation.
