SDAIA Concludes Training Programs in US, UK for Winners of Open Data Datathon

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has concluded the two training programs held in the United States and Britain for the first and second place winners in the (Open Data Datathon), reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

SDAIA has recently hosted the Open Data Datathon in Riyadh to foster the skills of Saudi youth in data and artificial intelligence fields and provide them with excellent programs from the most prestigious universities worldwide.

Traffix AI

The first-place winning team, traffix AI, has participated in the Hero Training Program at Draper University in the United States.

The program was so fruitful as the participants learned the necessary skills to launch successful business projects and develop creative ideas and how to communicate with experts and entrepreneurs.

During their participation in the Datathon, the team developed an advanced project aimed at predicting damages and the percentage of errors in vehicle accidents using features such as: images and the location of the damage.

Such features effectively reveal responsibility in traffic accidents and reduce traffic congestion.

Team 2030

The second winning team, Team 2030, has participated in the Data Science for Competitive Advantage training program at London Business School in Britain.

The program provided the participants with all skills required to identify the challenges of their data and AI projects and how to create modern methods based on data science to solve these challenges.

Team 2030 took part in the Datathon and showcased a promising project revolving around a cutting-edge system that uses a dataset of driver images in order to identify the early signs of fatigue by analyzing subtle signals such as eye closure.

Furthermore, the system provides an immediate response and automatically alerts emergency services, to ensure the safety of the driver and others on the road.

Open Data Datathon

The “Open Data Datathon,” held in October 2023 in Riyadh, was a valuable platform that brought various experts and entrepreneurs together with more than 200 male and female contestants representing: Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Yemen, Egypt, Palestine, Bangladesh, Syria, Algeria, and Nigeria.
