The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity celebrated the achievements of the Saudi science and engineering team following its successful participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, held in Phoenix from May 9 to 15, 2026. The global competition brought together nearly 1,700 students from 70 countries.
The ceremony was attended by Mawhiba Secretary-General Abdulaziz Al-Karidis and included the screening of two documentary films showcasing the Saudi team’s journey — from preparation and training to competing at the international fair.

During the event, speeches were delivered and members of the delegation, officials, and supporting partners were recognized for their contributions to this national accomplishment.
Saudi Arabia participated in ISEF 2026 — the world’s largest pre-university science and engineering competition — with a team of 40 students. Of those, 23 students competed in person in Phoenix, while 17 joined remotely from Riyadh. Two middle school students also attended the competition as observers.

The Saudi team earned a total of 24 international awards, including 12 grand awards and 12 special awards. The team also achieved first place worldwide in computational biology and informatics.
In addition, Saudi Arabia maintained its position as the world’s second-highest-ranking country after the United States for the third consecutive year, further strengthening the Kingdom’s standing in global scientific competitions.
